We will be arriving with our 4 year old and 1 year old in Sept. and staying at the Swan & Dophin. We will not be going to a park on the first night but looking for a fun place to eat dinner either at a resort or Downtown Disney. Where do you suggest?

    Cathy:

Your answer may be right under your nose!

I ate at the ESPN Club on the Boardwalk right by the Swan & Dolphin when I visited in May.  My only regret: I didn't have my boys with me!

You didn't mention if you had boys or girls, but my 4-year-old loves the movie Cars, and they have a special laptop Cars game that plugs into a screen right at your dining table!  There are televisions all around the restaurant (much like Buffalo Wild Wings and similar restaurants).  There's also an arcade with games that even a small fry could do.  Before dinner, you can stroll the Boardwalk and take in all of the street performers, and afterwards, you can check out Illuminations at 9 p.m. from the lake.

If sports and such isn't your cup of tea, and you want to head to Downtown Disney, consider making reservations via 407-939-3463 at T-Rex.  It's one of the new restaurants at DD, featuring prehistoric animatronics and themed rooms throughout the restaurant.  (There's even a "build-a-dino", like build-a-bear, in the restaurant).  That or the fun Rainforest Cafe would be a good start to the week!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
