Hi Craig!
First off, a great big congratulations on planning both your upcoming Walt Disney World trip AND you two birthday celebrations!
For your son, you can opt to do a character meal, such as Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's will prove to be a fitting dining experience for a birthday celebration. Being able to dine with Mickey and pals is a great treat, no matter what age you are. One way you can up the cool factor would be to order a cake tableside so you can celebrate by blowing out his candles. You can request a small cake once you arrive at your reservation, or you can call Disney Floral and Gifts to have a custom made cake delivered to your resort. You can look into
Disney Floral and Gifts In Room Celebrations! How wonderful would it be to return from a day at the parks only for your son to see that Mickey remembered his birthday to, and left him a few "surprises!" Celebrations vary in style and pricing, and you can see more information about them on the DFG website.
For your wife, a lovely, romantic dinner at perhaps her favorite restaurant would be a wonderful to celebrate her special day. Disney offers great dining options and you can select from a variety of high quality experience, or opt for the AAA Diamond awarded Victoria and Alberts. Your son can spend an evening at one of Disney's Children's Activity Centers while you and your spouse enjoy some "you" time.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
