We will be arriving at WDW on May 21. We are going to be there for 5 days and want to make the best of it. Should we expect it to be really crowed that week and if so would we be better off avoiding the extended hour parks to avoid long waiting in line?

Overall, I don't think you'll be having too many big crowds, except for Disney's Hollywood Studios with Star Wars Weekend happening on 21st and 22nd.  Personally, we like Extra Magic Hours in the morning, but then we hop over to another park by lunch time because the park becomes crowded. If we are traveling without the park hopper option, we avoid the parks with morning Extra Magic Hours. As for the evening Extra Magic Hours, we find them too crowded to enjoy, so we do avoid those, too.

However, the dates of your vacation may keep the crowds at bay on their own.

    Have a magical trip!
