Hi, we are arriving to WDW for the first time on 12/27/12 through 01/06/13 staying at the all stars. Being such a crowdy season, would it be better to have 6 days tickets and no hopper or 4 with hopper? Would like my kids to enjoy the trip the most.TU!

    Hi Michelle!

How exciting that your first Walt Disney World vacation is over the holiday season and includes celebrating the New Year!

That's a great question to ask. The type of ticket you choose really does depend on what type of flexibility you'd like to enjoy and definitely the time of year is a factor to consider as well.

If you'd like to be able to spend long, full days with early starts in the parks, you'll likely be just fine with 6 days of Base Park Tickets, without hopping. Keeping in mind that of course, this is a busy time of year to visit so patience and a 'plan' will be key to enjoying your experience as much as possible. If you've purchased a Dining Plan, be sure to get online as soon as you reach 180 days from your arrival date so secure the Special Meals you'd like to enjoy with your family very early.

Since you're enjoying Walt Disney World for almost 10 whole days (lucky you!), you'll still be able to enjoy plenty of relaxation and fun outside the parks at your resort by the pool or exploring and shopping at Downtown Disney. You may want to purposely plan on spending the 'peak' holiday days outside the parks.
Although the flexibility of a Park Hopper is indeed a bonus to have, during a 10-day trip I think it would be best to keep those extra two full park days versus just four days with hopping privileges.

If you'd like some recommendations for dining, or fun activities to enjoy without entering a theme park (such as a Pirate Adventure Cruise for your kids while you enjoy a quiet breakfast, or a fun dinner show), I hope you'll visit me again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time on your First Walt Disney World vacation Michelle!
    Happy planning!
