Hi we will be arriving at WDW in a few short weeks. I was wondering if we land at 930am is it realistic to be at Epcot for a character meeting by noon? Also do we need to.go to our resort first to have our luggage stored until our check in time at 3pm?

    Hi Margaret!

Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World!

I think that an Advanced Dining Reservation at noon is cutting it too short if you don't land until 9:30 a.m. When we are at Walt Disney World we like to leave plenty of time to get to Advanced Dining Reservations, the parks and resorts because there are many factors that can cause unanticipated wait times. For example, if there is traffic coming from the airport to the resort, lines at check-in or if your flight is delayed...this will all result in unanticipated time. Also, if you are taking the Magical Express from the airport to the resort, you will definitely want to leave extra time. At times it can be up to an hour before the Magical Express leaves after your flight lands, therefore you may not get to your resort until 11:30 a.m. Your resort can definitely hold your luggage until you check in at 3:00 p.m., that's not a problem at all.

If you are taking Disney Transportation from the resort to the park, you will want to leave enough time for a bus to arrive and to get from the resort from the park. The time to get to the park will vary depending upon which resort you are staying at. Additionally, if you are bringing a bag with you (even just a purse) you will have to go through bag check. Going through bag check can take a while, as can getting through the gates and then to the location of your reservation.

If you are renting a car, and you are driving directly to the park from the airport and you will leave your luggage in the car, you can possibly make it to the park by noon.

With all of this being said, I think it's cutting it too close and you will be stressed out trying to make it in time. You wouldn't want to start your vacation stressed out! You can certainly make it to the park on the same day of your arrival, just make your reservation for dinner instead of lunch.
