Arriving to Walt Disney World on March 13th but our first day at the parks is the 14th. If I want to start booking Disney dining 60 days before, is it 60 days from March 13 or 60 days from the first date we want to book a dining reservation? Thanks!

    Hello Sandy,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

There are so many unique dining experiences in Walt Disney World, it's one of the things our family really looks forward to on our vacations.

You can start making dining reservations for your entire trip (or up to 10 days) 60 days from your check in day, which sounds like it's March 13. So, even though it will be 61 days until you are actually planning on dining, you can still make those plans.

A little tip: book the dining experience you want MOST first. In your mind you may have already planned out the perfect park touring plan for your vacation, but your dining reservations sometimes don't cooperate, especially if you want to dine at a restaurant that fills up quickly. For example, you may decide that on March 14 you want to spend the day at EPCOT and dine at Space 220 Restaurant, but you might find that the only day available is March 17. I recommend booking the reservation and choosing your park days around those.

If you still don't get what you want. Don't give up! Make alternate reservations, and then keep checking back. You can typically cancel dining reservations up to 24 hours in advance with no charge (although look at the cancellation policy when you make your reservation to be sure). Something may even open up while you are in Walt Disney World.

Hope this helps. Happy planning, and have a magical vacation!
