Arriving for our Vacation on October 16th. Since we can make dining reservations 60 days out "the day" I can do this August 16th, correct? I received a letter stating Aug. 17th but that is actually 59 days out...can you verify the date for me

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Marsha. I'm so glad you've stopped by to talk about my favorite thing - dining at Walt Disney World.

Advanced dining reservations can be made 60 days prior to your check-in day for the length of your stay up to 10 days. To figure out that date, what I typically do is type in the search bar on my computer, "60 days prior to October 16, 2021" and there is a little calculator that will do it for you. I went ahead and looked and it does seem like your day to make advanced dining reservations for your upcoming vacation is Tuesday, August 17, 2021. But, don't take my word for it. Be sure to put it in your search bar and verify what I've come up with for you. If you think that this date is still wrong, it doesn't hurt to wake up one extra morning early and give it a shot. You never know, you may just get some pixie dust and be able to make your reservations then. But, I'm banking on August 17th to be your true date.

You can make dining reservations online starting at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time. You are also able to speak to a Cast Member over the phone and they will help you with your reservations starting at 7:00 a.m. The number to call is (407)WDW-DINE. If possible, I do suggest setting your alarm for around 5:50 a.m. and going ahead with making reservations online. Some of the best places do tend to fill up quickly and being up with the rising sun will give you the best shot at securing what you are really hoping for.

If you need another dining suggestion to fill up your itinerary, I've got a great one for you. Right now, my favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World is The BOATHOUSE located in Disney Springs. The restaurant is set on the lake and provides stunning views as the sunsets. There is something on the menu for everyone but my go-to order right now is the lobster roll served warm with truffle fries. Always upgrade to the truffle fries, trust me on that one! They have an excellent wine list and drink menu and if you can find any room for dessert at the end of your meal, do it! My family likes to share the key lime pie in a jar. Everyone gets a few bites and it's the perfect light sweet treat to end a fabulous meal.

I hope this helps sort out when you can make your advanced dining reservations, Marsha. If you have any other questions, please stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
