Arriving 12/18/11.Was told that after last MVMCP the parades and shows are the same the week leading to Christmas. Is there also the castle lighting and snow on main street or is this strictly for the party? Trying to decide if we want to do party or not.

Hi Carla! Visiting Walt Disney World during the holidays is my favorite time of year, it's just so magical! You are correct, the Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas Parade performs during Christmas week, before that it is only viewable during the Very Merry Christmas Party event. The Castle Dream Lights lighting ceremony does take place nightly at dusk, whether there is a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party going on or not. As far as I know, the "snow" on Main Street, USA is only during the Christmas Party.

Of course also available only during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are the complimentary cookies and hot cocoa or hot cider (apple slices also available), and the characters all dressed up in their holiday attire for great photo opportunities. If you haven't experienced Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I highly recommend it because of the wonderful holiday experiences AND less crowds than will be there during Christmas week.

Good luck with your decision and come visit us again if you have any other questions!
