    We'll be arriving Sun evening in at all star music . Rather than "waste" our first day of tickets when the park is only open for a few hours, we were thinking of waiting until the next am & taking advantage of the magic hours. what can we do

    Hi, Paul!

    I think you have the perfect plan!  There's nothing worse than being rushed your entire vacation.  Use your first evening to settle in to your resort, get the lay of the land, and get ready for several days of magic!

    I do not know what time you arrive.  If it is late, you can simply hang by the pool and get dinner at the food court.  If you are on the earlier side and have a few hours, you might want to hop on a bus to Downtown Disney for shopping, dining, and soaking in the atmosphere!  One of my favorite quick service locations is located in Downtown Disney:  Wolfgang Puck Express.  They have great pizzas, pasta, and my kids love their children's menu.  Shopping is awesome in Downtown Disney with the World of Disney Store, Once Upon a Toy, and Lego just to name a few.

    Another option for the evening is if you want to do a character meal.  A fun first night is to dine with Mickey at Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort (you can take a bus to the Magic Kindom and walk over, or taxis are available.)  This is a wonderful way to meet several of the Disney pals and get their pictures and autographs.   Advance Dining Reservations will be needed, call (407)WDW-DINE.
