Arriving 11/25 staying thru 11/29 at AOA. Everything I read said the weekend after thanksgiving is crazy busy but that the week following isn't to bad. However cast members I've spoken to say its very busy that week. Anyone have personal experience?

    Hello, Amanda!

Thanksgiving week is a wonderful time of year to visit Walt Disney World, but yes, the weekend after Thanksgiving is very busy.

My husband and kids were in WDW the weekend before Thanksgiving (I had to work) and noticed the crowd level increasing each day as Thursday approached. By the time I got there Wednesday evening, it was very crowded and remained so throughout the weekend. On Sunday, however, we noticed a definite decrease in crowds, and saw many folks checking out.

Touringplans.com, an unofficial crowd-prediction site, notes that from Thanksgiving Day, 2012 through the following Saturday, crowd levels are predicted to be 10 out of 10. Sunday, November 25th, however, the crowd level average decreases to 8 out of 10, with Magic Kingdom Park actually ranking at 2.3 out of 10! The rest of that week continues to see crowd levels shrinking to 6 out of 10, then only 2 out of ten by mid to late week.

Clearly, you picked a great time to visit WDW! You'll have all of the benefits of the holiday decor and events, with much lighter crowds. Have a blast!

Be sure to send more questions, especially regarding holiday must-sees, as you think of them! I'd love to help!
