we are arriving 05/24/09 about 12:30. Staying at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort. We have dinner reservations at 7:15 for the Hoop Dee Do Musical Revue. What is the quickest way to get there from our hotel and how much time should we allow to get there

    Anita:

I love the Hoop Dee Do Revue, but it's not the easiest place to get to....

With that said, Port Orleans is on the same side of the resort property as Fort Wilderness, and if it was me, I'd take a taxi for the 5- to 10 minute-drive from your hotel to the Fort.  However, the taxi will have to drop you off at the bus stop at the entrance of the Fort called The Outpost. From there, you will then take an internal bus to the other side of the Fort near the Settlement and the show.  You can take the Orange bus line for the 10-minute ride.

Another way, that's twice to three-times as long depending on wait times, but more scenic, is to hop on a bus from Port Orleans to the Magic Kingdom.  Once you're at the Magic Kingdom, head to the pier and get on the boat to Fort Wilderness.  The 20-minute boat ride will shuttle you to the pier near the Settlement of Fort Wilderness, and from there, it's just a short walk over to the show.

Now the decision is yours: time or money....

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
    Whitney

p.s. When you get out of the show, regardless of whether you take the bus or boat, head down to the pier and see if you can catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks and water pageant!  Your timing should be spot on!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
