Hi Derek,
Welcome to planDisney! Your spring Walt Disney World vacation must be shaping up nicely, especially since you have a Dining Plan in place. This was a smart choice on your part because it gives your vacation more of an "all-inclusive" feeling and provides peace of mind knowing that your meals are covered in advance. The
Quick Service Plan gives you the most flexibility because you can use it at most quick service locations across Disney World property. There's no need to book a dining reservation to use this plan, which I love. Spontaneous
Columbia Harbour House Lobster Roll run, anyone?
All dining plans start on the first night of your stay. The Quick Service Plan includes 2 quick service meals with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink per night, 1 snack or 1 non-alcoholic drink per night, and 1 resort-refillable mug per person age 3 or older staying in your room. The great news is that meals can be redeemed at any point during your stay. Unused meals and snacks will roll over on a daily basis and won't expire until midnight on the day you check out. So you can absolutely use your Dining Plan credits on your final day if you still have credits left to use.
If you haven't done this already, give some thought to which quick service locations you'll want to eat at while you're in the parks. It helps to have a plan in place, and it will help even more to place your mobile orders for your meals in advance. Use the My Disney Experience app to place your orders early and set your
pickup time for when you think you might get hungry later that day. Stay ready so you won't have to deal with being "hangry" while waiting for an available pickup window.
Aside from that delicious lobster roll I mentioned, a few of my favorite quick service meals are:
- The Totcho Bowl or BBQ Brisket Melt at Woody's Lunch Box inside Hollywood Studios
- Almost any protein & rice/noodle bowl at Satu'li Canteen in Animal Kingdom
- The Stir-fried Shrimp at Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT
- I know I already gave you a Magic Kingdom favorite, but the Coca-Cola Cherry-braised Pork Sandwich at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe deserves an honorable mention.
Derek, I hope this information is helpful, and I hope my short list has at least one new food item on it that you might be interested in trying during your vacation. Happy planning! If you need any additional help feel free to come on back. We'll see ya real soon!
Your pal,
Sakinah
