We are arriving soon on our very first DVC member trip. We are staying at Copper Creek Villas/Wilderness Lodge, can I have a grocery order delivered on our arrival day? Will bell services refrigerate cold items until our room is ready? Is there a fee?

    Howdy, Rebekah!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney. How exciting that your upcoming stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is just around the riverbend. As our Home Resort for the last 22 years, this property is one of our favorites to make our home sweet home during our Disney vacations.

Rebekah,  you are welcome to order groceries to be delivered to your Resort.  They would be delivered to Bell Services at the main lobby.  Bell Services can transport them to your room, but there is a $6 fee (subject to change) per order to deliver them. To avoid this fee, you can meet the grocery delivery driver in the lobby and borrow a luggage cart to transport them yourself. If you are having alcohol delivered with your order, you will have to meet the driver and present your photo ID, as Cast Members can't accept it on your behalf.

One thing to note is the timing of your delivery order. While some of the Disney Resorts can hold perishable items for you until you arrive, many of them can't, and it varies from Resort to Resort. As it will be hot when you are visiting, I always recommend timing your delivery order for when you will be in your room, after 4:00 p.m., so that you can accept the order and put perishables away immediately.

When it comes to delivery services, many popular grocery delivery services can come to your Resort.  We have used Instacart, Amazon Fresh, or Whole Foods. However, my parents like to order from Walmart or Kroger.  Several planDisney panelists like Garden Grocer for their supplies, but all of these services can deliver to your Resort.

Here's a tip, Rebekah! If your family likes to grill out like ours, there are complimentary grills on property called Spitfire Barbecue Pavilions. You are welcome to use these, and I like to mention it so you can plan ahead when you are ordering groceries. Our family loves to enjoy a barbecue meal after a fun day at the Resort watering hole (aka the pool).

I hope this helps you, Rebekah! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, trot back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you. After all, you've got a friend in me.

    Happy Trails!
