Hi We are arriving on my sons Birthday in April and I want to do a character meal for his birthday. Is there any way we can let them know and do they do anything special? Thanks.

Hi Beverly! What a special birthday your son will experience this year! Starting with a character meal will really take this vacation down a magical road!

There are many options for character dining so review them all at the Disney website, www.disneyworld.com. Once you have selected one that you feel your son will enjoy get the reservations immediately as the character dining is often the first to book up. When you make your reservation be sure and note that it is your son's birthday on the reservation either on line or when you call the dining number.  I suggest you also order a cake to be delivered to the restaurant or let them know when you arrive that you would like one of the standard cakes for your son.

The characters themselves cannot bring a cake or anything else special to the table but they will most likely make a big deal to your son. Pick up a birthday button at your resort and check to see if the resort gift shop has a nice birthday hat he can wear. The characters will take note of things like this and make it special for his big day. Your service staff will deliver a cake you order and at many locations they will sing to him and many other guests will join in!

What a great way to start your magical vacation!
