I am arriving with my son on the day of his birthday, can my resort or disney do something special for him, he will be nine Jan 16.

Hi there Tally!  We're so happy you came to the Moms Panel to ask us your question.   In my opinion, The Walt Disney Resort is the absolute best place to go for birthdays, or any celebration for that matter!  I assume that you meant this January, so I'm going to give you advice based on the fact that you are probably leaving very soon.    If you are staying at a Disney Resort,  be sure to tell the folks at the front desk that your are celebrating birthdays.  If you are not staying at a Disney Resort,  stop by Guest Relations at any of the four major theme parks .  You will be given a birthday button that you may choose to wear as much or as little as you'd like.  We love wearing these. It's so much fun that nearly everyone notices!  If the two of you want to celebrate your birthdays, you'll love hearing "Happy Birthday" from people at every turn!

Also, be sure to tell your server about your birthdays at the sit down restaurants.  There may be some unexpected surprises in store.  If you plan to visit Epcot,  it's fun to let the Cast Members in each country know about your birthdays.  They will say "Happy Birthday" in their primary language, and may even sing if you ask convincingly.   Additionally,  there are special birthday items available for purchase at various retail locations on property.    How about a Happy Birthday Ear Hat?!  You may even choose to have a birthday cake made.   Details regarding this, among other things, can be found here,  so take a look!

When in doubt, let everyone at Walt Disney World know it's your birthdays.  You never know what might happen.   Happy Birthday to both of you!

I wish you a magical vacation!
