We are arriving with our son (4) and daughter (6) and planning to stay at the Wilderness Resort. Given this is our first trip and that the resort has pools and a slide. Would you recommend purchasing the water park option with the park hopper?

    Hi Susanne!

You are going to LOVE your vacation at Disney's Wilderness Lodge!  The pool is fantastic and the resort itself has tons of great activities to enjoy and grounds to explore.  Honestly, given that this is their first trip to Walt Disney World, I would suggest visiting the Water Parks on a return visit.  On the other hand, the Park Hopper option is awfully convenient, particularly when making dining arrangements.  It is so nice to enjoy one park in the morning and have dinner in another - such a treat!  However, given that it is your first visit, it is not necessary to have the Park Hopper option, but it sure is a nice bonus.

On another note if your kids are into trains, be sure to check out the Carolwood Pacific Railroad room next door at the Wilderness Lodge Villas.  Walt Disney had a true passion for trains and this display is certainly a "must do" for all the train lovers in your party!
