    Will be arriving at Port Orleans Riverside on Mardi Gras. Have made dinner reservations else where, but should we be staying at the hotel? Do they do any extra activities? Thanks

    I love the Port Orleans Resorts with their southern Louisiana charm.  If you head down to sister resort French Quarter, you will truly get that Mardi Gras atmosphere everyday!  Their festive Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory makes you feel like you stepped right into a Mardi Gras celebration.  With their fresh, made to order Beignets, you can turn ANY day into a New Orleans fest!

    While I have never been at either of the Port Orleans Resorts on Mardi Gras, I have heard that Cast Members at the French Quarter will sometimes have a mini-parade with their golf carts decorated for the occasion.   They will parade around the resort tossing beads and candy to the guests.  You will want to confirm this with the front desk or resort concierge when you arrive to see if this tradition is still going on and if so, what time the festivities begin. 

    Enjoy your stay at the beautiful Riverside Resort, and make sure to make a stop in the lobby in the evenings to catch the entertainment of YeeHa Bob!  He is so much fun for the whole family - enjoy!
