Arriving at POR on Sunday with our Elf on the Shelf in tow. Does housekeeping play along with the Elf on the Shelf or are there little mouse ears or anything for purchase?

    Hi Anne,

I am very familiar with the Elf on the Shelf - ours is Steamboat Willie. Mousekeeping is so wonderful during our visits.  This summer they always posed my boys' stuff animals on their bed. My boys were always so excited to come in each evening to see what their animals had been up to all day.

Mousekeeping has always been so helpful whenever I've asked for help. Here's what I'd suggest. Go ahead and make a note for each day asking them to please move the Elf to a different location in the room. Put the note in a envelope labeled "Mousekeeping" and place it on the foot of the bed so that they'll see it. If your kids ask why you're doing that (my kids are always curious about everything), you can tell your kids that its a tip because of good service. You could even include a tip if you wanted.  If you see Mousekeeping outside your room, you could speak to them.  However, its possible that different people may be in your room during your stay so if you speak with one, there's no guarantee that they'll pass the message along.

You could move the Elf yourself each night once your kids are asleep. Even if he usually moves during the day at your house, he may get a little mixed up or just be too tired from all of the excitement at Disney World to move.

I'm assuming that the little mouse ears you're talking about are for your Elf.  Fulton's General Store inside the Colonel's Cotton Mill building at Port Orleans Riverside sells some Disney merchandise. I have a small, pair of felt Mouse Ears that is a Christmas ornament. If I cut the string off, it would fit on my Elf's head.  You may be able to find these at Fulton's General Store.  If not, I got mine at Disney's Days Of Christmas at Downtown Disney.

Please feel free to visit us with any last minute questions. We're hEAR for you!  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-)  Allison
