Arriving 11/16 2:15pm;departing flight 11/20 4:30pm. Staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge wtih our 5y/o grandson--his 1st trip. Our last visit was 1999 with then 18y/o youngest daughter. What would you suggest for our 1st and last day??? Love your panel!!!!

How exciting a trip this is going to be for you Pamela, taking your grandson for his first Disney trip!  There is nothing like going full circle with memories of taking your own children and now your grandchildren!  I cherish every trip and will have my own grandson down there in three days and I can't wait!

I would suggest you make a dining reservation in your resort for your first day.  We often do not go to the parks on our arrival day since traveling is tiring and we usually prefer to be up early the next day to head out.  By the time you check in and settle into the room it will be a bit late to really make a trek to a park.  We like to use the pool, walk the resort to get to know it, and head to bed early.

For the day of departure you might want to consider staying close and visiting the Animal Kingdom.  You can pack up and drop your luggage with the valets to hold until you leave.  Head to the park when it opens and enjoy a few rides and then stop for a bite to eat...Flametree Barbecue is our favorite spot.  When you need to head back to the resort it is a quick and easy bus ride back where you can collect your luggage and be on your way!
