We are arriving on 10/30 at 3:45PM, and travelling via Magical Express to the Contemporary - with a 2 & 4 yo in tow, what would you recommend is a reasonable time to get to DT Disney on the same day?

    Hi Marcia,

You and your family must be so excited!  Your trip is only a few days away!!

When making plans for the first day, I generally give myself a 3 hour buffer from the time my plane lands.  It may not take that long, but it's nice to have some extra time to plan for the unexpected hold ups that can occur.

When you arrive, you'll make your way down to the Magical Express boarding area.  Usually, the wait is about thirty minutes, but it can be longer if there are many guests arriving at the same time.  The drive to Walt Disney World is another thirty minutes or so -- depending on how many other resorts your bus stops at.  It's usually only one or two others.

When you arrive at the Contemporary, you'll want to check in.  I recommend online check-in.  It's available ten days prior to arrival and really expedites the check in process.  Then you'll need to wait for transportation to Downtown Disney.

Giving yourself three hours to get to your destination will help eliminate any stress that comes from rushing to make a dining reservation or other commitment.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
