Hi Mary,

Because the Magic Kingdom closes early (7 pm) on September 30th, I recommend that you spend your first evening at Epcot. Enjoy Illuminations at 9 pm and then return to your Disney resort by bus or private car. (If you are staying at Disney's Yacht Club, Beach Club, or Boardwalk Inn, you could catch a boat back to your home resort. Otherwise, buses will be available to get you back to your room.) The boats and buses will also be available around 5 pm to get you to Epcot.
