Arriving in Orlando on 09/25 at 1pm. DDs are 4 and 6. Most of the parks seem to close early that night. Should we go to DHS for a few hours, or stay at the hotel and get up early on Sunday? I noticed that DHS is open until 7pm, but Fantasmic is at 8pm?

Hi Anne!  I am all for enjoying and exploring your resort on your arrival day!  Traveling is exhausting these days and certainly not easy no matter how far you have come.  I suggest that guests take their time, enjoy getting to know their resort facilities, and have a nice sit down dinner close by for their first night.  Those that wish to rush off to a park for just a few hours not only eat up one day of their park tickets but also start by being exhausted on their vacation.

If you want to venture out how about Downtown Disney?  It is full of choice restaurants and some great shopping.  There will usually be entertainment happening throughout the area and in the evening it is quite beautiful with all the lights.  You can spend a few hours or just enjoy a walk through but it is less hectic and tiring then running through a park.

Head to bed early and get a good nights rest and be ready for the parks the next day!
