We're arriving in the Orlando area the evening before we are scheduled to check into our resort. We will have our MagicBands with us; do we have to go to our resort first to check in before we go to a park, or can we head to a park that morning?

    Hi Roy,

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  You do not have to check in to your Disney Resort hotel prior to going to the theme parks.  As long as you have your theme park tickets linked in your My Disney Experience account and your MagicBands are active you may go to the theme parks first.  If you have already made FastPass+ selections they will be available to you as well.  However be aware that not all of the MagicBand functions will be activated until you check in to your Disney Resort hotel.  You will not be able to access your Disney Dining Plan meal and snack credits or use your MagicBand for charging until after you have checked in.

If you would like all of your MagicBand functions to be activated prior to going to a theme park, you may check in to your Disney Resort hotel in the early morning before official check in time and have your charging and Disney Dining Plan (if purchased) activated.  Your room will not be available until later in the day but all of your MagicBand functions will be activated and you may store your luggage with Bell Services.

I hope this information helps you plan out your strategy for your first day of vacation.  Please let us know if you have any further vacation planning questions.  We are always happy to help!
