Robyn from AZ Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! We are arriving in October and plan to apply for the DAS pass for my son. How does the preselect work with a VQ? If we’ve preselected a time for a ride with DAS, but get in a VQ at the same time, would we just have to forfeit one? Thanks!

Hiya, Robyn, and welcome to planDisney! As the similarly-named Christopher Robin might say, your question is no bother. Let's see how we can make your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit a magical experience for your family.

I checked with a Tiggerific Cast Member who said that during your initial registration call for Disability Access Service, you will have the opportunity to pre-select two attractions per day of your visit. You will be given a one-hour return window to use these pre-selections, and you must make these at least two days in advance.

In addition to those pre-selections, you can make DAS selections in your My Disney Experience Mobile App on the day of your theme park visit. If your assigned return time for any of these attractions overlaps with one of your pre-selected times, you can still experience both! You can work in both attractions since you'll have some leeway with the return window. And Cast Members are understanding about guests with DAS and should be happy to work with you if the return times are tight.

Robyn, I have another tip for your visit. Although some attractions are not included in DAS, if they offer a complimentary Virtual Queue for all guests, your family is welcome to join that queue at 7:00 AM on the morning of your visit. Be sure you have a theme park reservation for that park, and once you are assigned a boarding group, your party can head to the attraction when you are notified. My tip is to look for umbrellas near the attraction entrance where you can tell a Cast Member that your son has DAS. Instead of waiting in the regular virtual queue line, they will probably send you to the Lightning Lane entrance, which is typically shorter. Although attractions offering virtual queues can change, they are Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom Park. You can check the Tip Board in the app closer to your visit for current offerings and height requirements for all attractions.

Robyn, I'm sending a honey pot full of pixie dust to make your upcoming visit magical. Even though I can be a silly old bear like Pooh, I love helping guests. Stop back by planDisney anytime!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
