We are arriving Oct 2 3rd and staying at the poly for a week. I booked us at Ohanas the first night and was thinking about catching the fireworks on the beach that night, is it a good plan or should we venture out the first day?

    Hi Andrea,

I like how you think!  This sounds like the perfect plan for your arrival day.  I think I may be in the minority, but I like to ease into my Walt Disney World vacations.  Travel day can often mean early mornings and lots of hectic moments, so I like to do something that gives us that does of Disney magic without having to hit a theme park.

Watching the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian a great way to wind down.  Hearing the music piped in while looking out over the quiet of the lagoon is pure bliss.  I like to bring low sticks for the kids so as they play on the beach I can keep track of them by their glow.

When the fireworks are over there won't be any crowded busses or monorails - you can turn in early and be ready and refreshed for your first "real" day at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps - have a great time!
