Arriving on 7/24/12 and not able to make ADR due to not knowing son's bball schedule, what restaurants would you recommend that won't be too long of a wait or possibly quick service restaurants that would work for a good dinner? Thanks so much!!!

    Hello, Colleen!

One of my family's favorite restaurants in all of Walt Disney World is Wolfgang Puck's Express at the Marketplace at Downtown Disney. This great restaurant is a Quick-Service that tastes and feels like a Table-Service restaurant. No exaggeration here, either! You order your food at the counter; it's then prepared fresh to your order and brought to your table by the waitstaff. No reservations needed because it's a Quick-Service location!

Take a look at the menu offerings from this great place by heading over to my favorite unofficial site, allears.net. There, hover over Walt Disney World and click on "Dining." Next, click on Downtown Disney and you'll find the menu for Wolfgang Puck Express. We haven't met a dish there we didn't like!

If you're staying in a WDW Resort, you might have a great Quick-Service location there. For example, the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort has a Quick-Service restaurant that's simply unbelievable. From Tandoori Shell-on Shrimp (with Naan Bread and two sides=$10.99) to a Create-Your-Own Burger ($10.29), Build-Your-Own Salad Bar, BabyCakes cupcakes, gelato, you'll have a lovely dinner here, with no reservations at all. YUM!

Once you have a better idea of the end time for your son's baseball schedule, even if it's just a couple of hours before dinnertime, call Disney Dining at (407) WDW-DINE and ask what restaurants are available that evening. Because you can be a bit flexible, since you're not trying to get dinner in particular park, you might just luck out and find there are some great reservations that evening.

Good luck! Let me know if you any additional questions; I'd love to help!

    Now, play BALL! :-)
