We will be arriving before noon. We planned to make a stop for groceries, but are concerned with room availability and whether cold food could be stored if the room was not yet available. Is there a way to store cold food/drinks if a room is not yet ready?

Hiya Jeremy and welcome to planDisney!

I wouldn't usually think of Tuesdays as particularly special, but arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort is about to make it downright magical. Stopping to grab those groceries is a great idea. Treats in the room can be an absolute lifesaver for those moments when you just don't feel like going out. Let's make sure all your snacks make it to their destination.

Before we go any further, Jeremy, stop what you're doing and go do your Online Check-In right now. Just open your My Disney Experience app, tap the icon in the bottom right-hand corner, and open Future Plans. Tap the blue Start Check-In Now button. Your Arrival Time is one of the things you're asked for and you can choose the time you arrive at your hotel. One of the many great things about Disney is that they'll try their hardest to get that room ready to accommodate your specific time. I can't tell you how many times my room has been ready for me at all kinds of odd times of the day.

Now if you do still end up with a bit of a wait for your room after stopping at the store, don't worry! Disney Resorts Collection hotels are pros at this sort of thing. Go to the Bell Services desk in the lobby of your hotel and ask them to hold those groceries for you. Be sure to let them know about perishables so they can be refrigerated. They can also hang on to your luggage while you hang out by your resort pool, go and have lunch in Disney Springs, or get the party started at the first Disney Park of your trip while you wait for your room. It's all up to you!

Pro-tip: You may want to consider having your groceries delivered. You can pay a small fee and have Bell Services deliver them to your room, or you can pick them up in the lobby. We love a hassle-free vacation moment!

Jeremy if you have any more questions before or even during your stay at The Most Magical Place on Earth, just give us a shout and we'll do our best to help you out!

    Safe travels!
