Arriving on 12/11 for 6 nights @ POFQ. Plan on skipping the parks one day & would love fun suggestions for entertainment (besides Downtown). Family of four w/ 2 DD's ages 10 & 6. All your advice on here is greatly appreciated!!

Hi Monica!  Since you will be visiting in the month of December I strongly suggest you consider some resort hopping to see all the wonderful decorations at each!

The Grand Floridian will have a huge tree decorating their lobby but the true show stopper is the larger then life size gingerbread house.  They actually have a store where you can purchase fresh gingerbread!  Sit and enjoy the decor as you take in the delicious smells of the holiday.

The Contemporary resort usually has a huge wreath on one of the sides so you can see this as you approach on the monorail.  Inside and usually on the 4th floor you will see fresh and hand decorated ornaments for purchase.

The Beach Club is one of my favorite stops because I love the edible life size carrousel.  Look for the hidden Mickey's the chef has placed on the structure.  some are pretty easy to see but others will take a while.

The Yacht Club has a train and the Boardwalk has decorations in their lobby so just taking the time to walk around the Boardwalk area will be fun.  Be sure and stop to buy some great fudge to take back to your resort for a snack!

In the later hours as it starts to get dark take the trip to Fort Wilderness.  Here you can book a carriage ride to see all the wonderful holiday displays that so many of the guests put around their campsites.  If you go early enough you can enjoy a pony ride for the younger one and visit the Disney stables.  If you are there late enough walk to the beach and see the Electric Light Parade and even the Magic Kingdom fireworks.  The music is piped in and although the views are not perfect the crowds are!
