Arriving mid morning and planned to go to DD. But ticket prices are about the same for 4 vs. 5 days, so was wondering if Magic Kingdom is manageable on arrival day with 7, 5, 3 & 1 yr. old or should I stick to original plan of DD. Staying @ AoA. Than

    Hi there Anita!

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your great question!

I am one who is all for jumping right into the fun and magic of the parks on day one!
Even when my kids were very young, we'd always splurge on that extra, minimal cost to add our 'arrival day' onto our park tickets. With you arriving mid-morning, you certainly have plenty of time to enjoy some park fun on your first day!

Consider enjoying a casual lunch at your resort after getting checked in and picking up your park tickets. Then, head on out to the Magic Kingdom Bus Stop and off you'll go! There's really nothing quite like watching your children as they witness Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle for the first time! It's really quite magical! Keep a leisurely pace that day, knowing that you're just popping in for a little preview! Enjoy the afternoon parade and let each child choose one attraction they'd like to enjoy. A few favourites I'd recommend for the whole family to enjoy together on your first day would include: "it's a small world", The Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, the Jungle Cruise and Dumbo The Flying Elephant. Your littlest ones will love the interactive stand-by queue area at Dumbo! It's a fantastic place to cool off and relax.

Since you're staying onsite, you'll have the added convenience of frequent Disney Transportation Buses to whisk you straight back to Disney's Art of Animation Resort once everyone is tuckered out for the day!

If you should have additional questions about your upcoming visit, please don't hesitate to write me back Anita. I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
