We are arriving at 10am which means my kids will have been up since 4am. We are staying 6 nights w/ 5 days at the parks. Would you recommend taking the day off and hanging by the pool and going to Downtown Disney on the first day or going to a park?

    Hi Theresa!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

If your children will have been up since 4 am, I think the best thing to do is to have a relaxing first day.  Hanging by your resort pool and visiting Downtown Disney sounds like a good idea.  Other ideas are:
    • Rent a boat on Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay Lake
    • Play miniature golf
    • Go horseback riding in Fort Wilderness
    • Visit DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney
    • Explore a Disney Deluxe Resort, such as the Animal Kingdom Lodge

I would definitely suggest staying out of a theme park until the next day (or unless everybody has a really good nap).  The theme parks are huge and there is a lot of walking involved.  Everybody should be well rested before going into a park to have the most fun!

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
