We are arriving at MCO on 6/4 after a grueling 15 hour trip from Hawaii at about 4 pm. Do you have any idea how long the drive from MCO will take. Assuming a 6pm arrival at the Dolphin, do you have any suggestions for our first night?

Edric, you are certainly a great devoted Mickey Mouse fan to make the 15 hour trip to get to Walt Disney World!  I am sure you will have a magical vacation and you will soon forget the jet lag.

The trip itself from Orlando International Airport to the Dolphin resort will take only about 30 minutes. During heavy traffic times it can take a bit longer.  Your assumption of a 6:00 resort arrival is a pretty good one. Once you have checked into your room you will want to get a bite to eat. There are some fine restaurants right in the Dolphin or next door in the Swan or you can venture over to the Boardwalk area or the Yacht and Beach Club resorts.  Reservations are strongly suggested at all locations.

If you still need something to do before crashing into bed I suggest you take the walk around Boardwalk. There will be street entertainment and some games and activities when dusk comes.  You can pop into the ESPN Zone to check on the latest scores from your favorite sport or head to Jellyrolls for an evening of entertainment from the dueling pianos.  This area is all within a short walk from your resort making it very convenient.

Travel is very stressful these days and quite exhausting so I suggest you not try to do any parks but instead just relax and get rest and start out early the next morning.  Many families try to hit the ground running and they are the ones that run out of steam first!
