We are arriving March 27th for a week, 4 day/1park/day pass. Are preparing FastPass selections and want to know your thoughts on using 1 of the 3 selections for evening Fireworks/Display shows? Which Evening Shows are worth it? Thanks.

    Hi Kathy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family loves Walt Disney World Resort’s nighttime spectaculars, and making sure we see each show is a big part of our planning process!

Based on my experience and planning style, I do not recommend using a FastPass+ selection on the nighttime shows. Once you use your initial 3 FastPass+ reservations, you have the option of continually selecting more throughout your day using the My Disney Experience mobile app or the kiosks located in the theme parks. If you have a third FastPass+ reservation at the end of your day, you won’t be able to access that option. You are visiting at what I would consider a busier time because of Spring Breaks and the Easter weekend, so those extra FastPass+ reservations will help you save time throughout your day.

There are also other ways to reserve a spot at most of the nighttime shows. There are Dining Packages for both Fantasmic! and Rivers of Light, where you can make Advance Dining Reservations to eat meals at specified restaurants, and receive a voucher that provides access to a reserved seating area in the theater. There are also Dessert Parties for Happily Ever After, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, and Illuminations. While these come at an extra cost, they are fun events with delicious treats and access to reserved viewing areas and some special extras. If you search “Fireworks” on the Walt Disney World website, you’ll see these options.

Kathy, we usually stake out a spot about 45 minutes before the showtime. We pick up some snacks to make the wait time pass more comfortably, and after a long day in the parks, it feels good to sit and relax while we wait. Enjoy the pixie-dusted shows!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
