    Hi! We are arriving 11/25/12 for our kids first Disney trip. We are staying at POR and we have reservations for dinner our first nt at 7pm at Whispering Canyon Cafe. Just wondering the easiest way to get there and the approx. travel time needed? Thanks!

    Hi Dana!

    This is a great question.  The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a lot of fun.

    From Port Orleans Riverside, you need to first go to a theme park or to Downtown Disney.  Once you get to a park or Downtown Disney, you need to transfer to a bus going to the Wilderness Lodge.  Since the longest time is really just waiting for the buses, I recommend catching the first bus going to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or the Studios.  I wouldn't take a bust to Animal Kingdom as it is kind of out of the way, and I wouldn't go to Downtown Disney because there are several bus stops there and it just adds more time to the trip.

    In fact, my first choice would be to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom.  Then I would walk down to the boat dock and take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge.  Boats run about every 20 minutes to the lodge from the Magic Kingdom.  I just think it is a fun way to travel.  I would budget one hour for the whole trip from Port Orleans Riverside, which includes waiting for the first bus.
