We are arriving in July. Is it very hot and very crowded?  Is it the most popular time to come?

    Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

July is a popular month for guests to visit Walt Disney World as many children are out of school. I also believe that the time right around the Fourth of July will be even more popular as many adults have vacation as well. July is also quite a hot month in Florida, with the average high in Orlando being about 92 degrees Fahrenheit. But do not worry! My family and I travel to Walt Disney World during the summer months often. With some careful planning and tips, you can set yourself up to have a great time.

First, be sure that you have scheduled Disney FastPass+ selections for your days at the Disney theme parks. With these selections, you will be able to experience some attractions each day by skipping the standby line, which saves time.

Also, I suggest that you get to the theme parks early in the morning, even a little bit before the scheduled opening time. This morning will be the coolest part of the day, and you will be surprised at how many other guests will sleep in and not arrive at the parks until later in the day! This means that in the early morning hours, you can experience lots of attractions in the coolest weather of the day. This goes hand in hand with my next tip - which is to take a midday break. The afternoon is typically the hottest part of the day.  My family and I like to head to a theme park early, experience attractions and have a late lunch, and then head back to our resort hotel to nap or swim. Then we are refreshed and ready to go back into the theme parks when it is cooler in the evening.

Finally, stay hydrated! I like to take bottles of water into the park with me in my backpack. You can also ask for complimentary cups of ice water at any quick-service dining location.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, Suzanne!
