Arriving Jan.1 with DS 2 and DS9. Will just be the three of us the first night, and next day. Am concerned about riding the rides with my 9 year old riding by himself! Have any of you moms and dads been in a similar situation and how did u handle it ?

I understand your concern, Cari, but I think you'll be okay.  I don't imagine that you'll be experiencing any of the more thrilling attractions (Space Mountain, Expedition Everest) considering the fact that you'll have your two-year-old with you.  As long as you stick to the more tame attractions, your nine-year-old should do just fine by himself.  In many cases, ride vehicles can seat three or more guests and you won't even need to split up.  For the attractions in which you do need to ride separately, I would recommend putting your nine-year-old in the ride vehicle immediately in front of you so that you can keep a close eye on him.  Truly, I don't think you'll have any trouble.  Enjoy your trip!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
