We will be arriving at our hotel Sunday afternoon, but our tickets to get into the parks start Monday. What would be the most fun to do with my 4 and 8 year old boys that late afternoon and evening?

We enjoy visiting Downtown Disney with its many shops and restaurants.  There are also some water play spots that your sons may enjoy running around in if you are up to having some wet kids with you!  We often bring some clothes to change in, and there is a family restroom near the Christmas store to do that.  Also, the Lego store has a play area with both Legos and playground-ish equipment.
Another idea is to visit some of the Magic Kingdom resorts for dinner, such as 'Ohanas at the Polynesian resort where cast members hosts games for kids during dinner.  You could then wander down to the beach to watch the fireworks and Electric Water Parade that follows them.
The Boardwalk is another fun place to explore and possibly even rent one of the family bicycles to ride around the boardwalk.
Finally, I'd like to suggest one of the two miniature golf courses.  My sons are always asking to go back to play with all the whimsy and fun of the courses.
