We will be arriving for our honeymoon on Christmas Day in the late afternoon. What is a good place that is not in one of the parks to have Christmas dinner?

Hello, Lori! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Walt Disney World is the perfect place for a honeymoon.

My family and I visit Walt Disney World every year over the Christmas holiday. It's such a fun time to be there. We love the hustle and bustle of the crowds, the holiday decorations and just the Christmas spirit all around. You are in for a real treat. We've eaten Christmas dinner at an array of places over the years and I can say that I haven't had a bad meal yet.

If you are looking for something a bit fancy I suggest trying to snag a dinner reservation at California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Everything about this dining experience is amazing. To get to the restaurant Guests take a private elevator up to the 15th floor of the resort where you'll be greeted by stunning views of Magic Kingdom Park. The food is amazing, it's an award winning restaurant with a menu that's heavily inspired by fresh flavors of the Pacific coast. Perhaps the best part of dining at California Grill is the fact that no matter what time of day you choose to eat there, you can return in the evening for the nighttime firework show over Magic Kingdom. There's a private terrace that you'll be allowed to go out on and watch the show. The lights dim and they even play the soundtrack. It's amazing, especially on such a busy day like Christmas. There is no fighting the crowds. It's a perfect way to kick off your honeymoon.

Another great dinner spot is 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. This dinner is a little bit more relaxed than the one I mentioned above. It's all-you-care-to-enjoy served right up to your table. The food is Polynesian inspired and so tasty. During the meal you'll learn to hula, see kids participate in a coconut race and listen to sounds from the Ukulele. If you get a dining reservation close to the time of the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks, you'll be able to see them from your table. This restaurant also dims the lights and pipes in music for the show. But it's only for Guests dining during that time, so keep that in mind if you decide to eat there. Probably the most amazing thing about this dinner spot is the dessert so be sure to save room! It's a bread pudding served a la mode with caramel sauce and bananas, it's so good.

If the fireworks aren't a big draw for you then I have 1 more suggestion. My favorite place to celebrate and have a fantastic meal is STK Orlando at Disney Springs. I love the contemporary vibe of this restaurant. It's beautiful, the servers are fantastic and the food is delicious. You walk into this restaurant and can't help but feel excited. Anytime someone in my family has something to celebrate, we go there.

You can actually make advanced dining reservations 180 days prior to your vacation. Christmas is a busy day at Walt Disney World and restaurants will fill up quickly and I'd hate for you to miss out. Whatever you choose, I hope you'll do it soon and call (407)WDW-DINE to make your reservations.

I hope this helps. Like I said, I vacation at Walt Disney World every Christmas so if you have any other questions about your trip, I hope you'll come back and ask me. Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
