We are arriving in Florida on fathers day after a 4-6 hour car ride (depending on where we stop the night before). Any ideas for a special treat for my husband to celebrate this day with our 4 year old son? Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Kelly!  The day of arrival to Walt Disney World can be a bit tiring and stressful due to check-in, unpacking, etc.  Since it is a special day for your husband and son try to leave the unpacking and settling in until later. If you can check into your room right away just drop the bags and head out. If the room is not ready just store it at your resort for later.  Make sure you are wearing the clothes you will need for the day as you make the short drive down from your overnight stop.

There are many great activities for you all to enjoy to celebrate Father's Day together. If your husband enjoys the water try to head to a water park for that time. Blizzard Beach would be my choice for the age of your son. Just relaxing in the lazy river all day would be a super treat after a long drive!

For something more involved consider getting reservations for  the two of them to do a pirate makeover at Pirates League in the Magic Kingdom. What fun it would be to have your two favorite guys to share in this experience. You can end the day with a great dining reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's Townsquare. You can also check to see if there is any availability for the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise that night to end the day with an up close viewing of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the waters in front of the park.

If you only have time for a nice dinner on that day then consider perhaps a reservation at T-Rex in Downtown Disney. Most young boys would love to share their interest with these large beasts with their dad during a fun mealtime.  You can then check out the movies at the AMC theater just down the walkway from the restaurant.

Lots of choices and you will be best to know their interests to see which would be perfect for a happy celebration!
