Arriving on a flight to Orlando International at 9:00am, we are staying at the Grand Floridian. We plan on using the Magical Express. We plan to go straight to Hollywood Studios after check-in. What time should we estimate our arrival at DHS?

    Hi Maureen:

My family always takes advantage of Disney's Magical Express, free transportation from Orlando International Airport to your Disney Resort.  In my experience, the wait for a Magical Express bus takes anywhere from walk on to about 20-30 minutes, depending on crowds.  Also in my experience, once on the bus, the drive to the Resorts takes about 35-40 minutes or more if your Resort is at the end of the route.  Magical Express buses stop at more than one Resort, and schedules and routes can change throughout the day due to demand.  In my experience, you may see Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness grouped together in one or two bus routes.  Routes can change and your ride on Magical Express will depend on where the Grand Floridian is on the drop off schedule.

Check in can also range from walk-up to a 10-15 minute wait depending on crowd levels and questions of Guests in front of you.  Once you are checking in, the process takes about five minutes.  Once checked in, you can catch a bus to Hollywood Studios.  While buses are scheduled to arrive around every twenty minutes, in most cases, your wait will be shorter.  Once on the bus, expect another 20 or so minutes to make the trip, depending on the route and traffic.

You can see there are a lot of variables involved in the trip.  I would expect about a two hour process (give or take) from airport to Park.

    Enjoy your vacation.
