Hi Fred,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner! Who wouldn't want to visit the Most Magical Place on Earth in the springtime? Unless you are attending a conference at Walt Disney World Resort, there is not an afternoon or evening ticket option. If you are attending a conference, you will need to contact the organizers for more information on tickets available to you.
We don't plan much on our arrival day. I have tried to plan to visit one of the theme parks on my arrival day, but we have had problems because of terrible traffic and/or flight delays. We have found it much more relaxing to give ourselves time to arrive and check-in to our room. If our room is ready, we can settle in for a bit and explore the resort. My favorite arrival day activity is to visit
Disney Springs and enjoy a meal and one of the fabulous restaurants there.
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' is a favorite as is
Enzo's Hideaway.
We have also chosen a restaurant at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for our arrival day. It's fun to visit a different resort and explore either before or after a meal.
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort is always popular. My husband and I enjoy the unique flavors of a meal at
Boma - Flavors of Africa in Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Fred, I hope this helps with your plans for arrival day. I also hope you'll let us know if we can help you with any other questions!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
