Hiya Nadia and welcome back to planDisney. It is so great to see you back. Can you believe your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just two months away? I have spent many New Year's Eve at the "Place Where Dreams Come True." One big thing to know is there will be many people, so planning now is brilliant.
Yes, there will be beach fireworks viewing only for Guests staying at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Cast Members will distribute wristbands to hotel Guests during specific hours as a way of distinguishing who will be allowed on the beach. Other guests may dine at the Resort hotel restaurants with a reservation but no beach access will be permitted.
I would like to recommend you make a dining reservation at one of these places which will give you an alternative location to see the fireworks. While not as centrally located dining at the
California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort or the
Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa have nice viewing areas. The view is not directly in front of Cinderella Castle but still magnificent. There is also great viewing on the Skyway Bridge bridge between Disney's Contemporary Resort's fourth-floor and Bay Lake Tower's fifth-floor.
planDisney Pro Tip: One New Year's Eve we chartered a
Specialty Cruise and watched the fireworks from the Seven Seas Lagoon. This was truly the best spot because it was a private experience with snacks, drinks, and no crowds.
Nadia, I hope you have the most enchanted trip to ring in the new year. Please feel free to ask for more tips from planDisney. You may also
write me back directly with any follow-up questions.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
