Hi Judy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You will be arriving for your magical vacation in just 5 days! You must be thrilled! Have you started packing yet? I'll admit, I'm an early packer myself, but I can't help it. When I'm getting close to my vacation, I am overflowing with excitement!
After a full day of travel, I like to take it easy on arrival day in order to rest for the remainder of our vacation. I always try to schedule an
Advance Dining Reservation at either
Disney Springs or our Disney Resort hotel. This way, we can stretch our legs a bit by exploring Disney Springs or our Disney Resort hotel leisurely, but we also feel like we are diving in and experiencing the Walt Disney World Resort right away. Speaking of diving in, arrival day is also a great chance to get in a little pool time at your Disney Resort hotel. A refreshing dip after a long trip may be just what you need!
With your stay at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, Disney Springs is a beautiful boat ride away, so personally that is what I would do with the first afternoon of my visit. There are a lot of wonderful restaurants to try and if you don't have an Advance Dining Reservation, there are a wide range of Quick-Service restaurants there that don't need a reservation.
Earl of Sandwich is a must-do every trip for our family, with a stop by
Ghiradelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop for dessert. Yum!
I hope this helps with your planning! Enjoy your trip!
Tabitha
