Hi Virginia,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for reaching out to us with your question, we are so glad you stopped by! I am so happy to see you will be visiting
Disney's Wilderness Lodge soon, it is one of my absolute favorite Resorts!
When my family and I visit Walt Disney World Resort, we take our first day to explore the Resort, enjoy the pool area and have a great meal at one of the Dining Locations within the Resort. You are in luck, because there are several incredible dining options, including Whispering Canyon Cafe and Geyser Point Bar & Grill. Before heading off to bed, I recommend heading down to the waterfront to enjoy the
Electrical Water Pageant on the Seven Seas Lagoon.
If you are feeling more adventurous you could always take a short boat ride over to one of the Resorts on the monorail loop and spend the evening enjoying the shops and dining options along the monorail.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Resort & Spa is a fun way to relax and enjoy the evening while enjoying some delicious beverages and taking in the antics of popular tiki bar! When you are ready, another short boat ride will deliver you safely back to your resort, there is nothing more relaxing that a boat ride on Seven Seas Lagoon!
Another option would be to hop on Disney Transportation and head to Disney Springs. This is a great way to enjoy some Disney Magic and experience live entertainment, shopping and dining without setting foot into a Theme Park.
For a splurge, check out the
Fireworks Specialty Cruises that depart from your resort! My family and I love heading out to enjoy Happily Ever After on our own Pontoon Boat, skippered by one of the fantastic Disney Cast Members. With snacks, trivia and a fantastic view of the fireworks, there is no better way to spend an evening!
I hope my suggestions are useful, Virginia. If you have any other questions, please come back and visit us again at
planDisney, we are always happy to help.
