We will be arriving at DW with our personal car. We will be staying on property & intend to use the extra magic hour benefit the morning of the day we check in. How far in advance do theme park parking areas open? Must we park at hotel to use EMH?

    Hi Carol!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It is a really good idea to make use of the Extra Magic Hours, available exclusively to Disney Resort hotel Guests.  You will be amazed how much you can enjoy within that first, quieter, hour.  I recommend that you use online check-in before you arrive, then you can drive straight to the theme park on your arrival day.  You will definitely be able to park early as the parking lots will open at least on hour before park opening hours, including those days offering Extra Magic Hours.  You do not have to park at your Disney Resort hotel to use Extra Magic Hours - but you are welcome to do so if you wish.  I would stop by the Front Desk and advise them that you are leaving your car there before heading off to the park using Disney Transport (which, incidentally, will begin operating around 45 minutes before park opening).  If you have used online check-in you should receive notification when your room is ready, and details of your room number, so you can head straight to your room after your time at the park.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on any events that may be happening during your stay.
