We are arriving in DW on January 16th. Will any of the Christmas lights still be up? or are they all taken down before them. Also, what do you think about our travel dates? January 16th thru the 23rd. Will it be "barren"?

Hi, Terri!  By mid-January, all of the holiday decorations will be packed away for the season.  Even though there will not be any tinsel or jingle bells around, I don't think you will see the parks as barren!   The parks are beautiful every day of the year!   The grand Cinderella Castle, the shimmering glow of Spaceship Earth, and the lush landscape of Animal Kingdom are all amazing!  You may not have Christmas magic, but 365 days a  year,  you will certainly find Disney magic!

January is a nice time to travel as kids are just going back to school after winter break.   Temperatures can be on the cool side (low 60's) so pack appropriately.   Evenings can get chilly when the sun goes down, so pack coats if you plan to be out after sunset.

I hope you have a great January vacation in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
