    Will be arriving in Disney World in the evening on a Friday for my daughters 16th birthday celebration. Staying only til Sunday...Magic Kingdom is the plan for Saturday....Any suggestions for Friday night (9ish) and any must do sweet 16 celebrations??

    Hi, Caprice! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you brought us your question! 

    I cannot imagine a sweeter celebration for a sweet 16 than a weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort! For my family, it is tradition to begin our trip with a visit to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). The newly expanded Disney Springs is bustling with fun nighttime entertainment for the whole family. I would begin by looking into some of the delicious and exciting restaurants so you can make an Advanced Dining Reservation for the evening. One of my favorites is Morimoto Asia. It’s so intricately designed and the food is to die for. She will feel very sophisticated dining there! After dinner, don’t miss trying a delectable pastry at Amorette’s Patisserie. The desserts there are as beautiful as they are delicious. 

    Now let’s discuss some shopping for the birthday girl! At Disney Springs I’m going to guess the biggest challenge will be deciding where to start! With the world’s largest Disney Store, World of Disney, The Marketplace Co-op, D-living, Disney’s Pin Traders, and so much more, she will have a great time picking out something special to commemorate what will surely be a magical birthday celebration! 

    One last tip: If you wish to make her stay extra special, see here how you can customize her celebration with some extra pixie dust! And don’t forget to get her a special birthday button! She will be celebrated everywhere she goes!
