    We are arriving at Disney on October 18th How can we add Genie + to our existing reservation and can we do it before we arrive

    Hi, Roberta! Welcome to planDisney!

    As you probably heard, we learned last week that the brand new Disney Genie+ service will make its magical entrance on October 19. That means you'll be one of the very first Guests to try it out! I can't think of a better way to make your vacation wishes come true!

    When it launches, Disney Genie+ will be available as a function of your My Disney Experience mobile app, so the first step is to make sure you have the app installed on your phone. If you take a look at the app right now, you'll see a section for Disney Genie with a button that says "Learn More." Eventually, that's where you'll purchase Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane access for individual attractions. Disney has said that Guests who have multi-day tickets and vacation packages will be able to purchase Disney Genie+ in advance, but we haven't yet heard whether or not that will be in effect before October 19. For now, I'd keep an eye on your app ahead of your arrival date, and check the Disney Parks Blog for any updates. If it doesn't become available to add before you head to the Walt Disney World Resort, you can check with a Cast Member at Guest Relations or at the front desk of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel for help in adding it after the launch.
