We are arriving in Disney early July. Is it worth the money to get the water park tickets or is the pool at the Coronado sufficient. I'm afraid that being we are going in summertime the lines at the waterpark will be so long that we get on water rides.

    Hi Laura!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt DIsney World Moms Panel!

The pool at Coronado Springs is very nice and perhaps one of the better ones on property; however, it really can not be compared to one of the fantastic water parks.  Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are a lot of fun for guests of all ages.

Florida is generally hot and humid in the summer!  There is no doubt that increases guests interest in going to the water parks.  However, if you go early in the morning you really shouldn't encounter packed conditions.  My boys, ages 12 and 8, absolutely love the water parks and want to go on every trip to Walt Disney World.  In fact, I think they would pick the water parks over the theme parks any day, but I have never asked them... because I'm afraid of their answer!  I am a big theme park fan!

My suggestion would be if you have time to try out one of the water parks.  I suggest arriving about 15 minutes before the park is scheduled to open.  Then try the slides first.  Save the large pool and the lazy river for later in the day when the park gets more crowded.  Between the two parks, I prefer Typhoon Lagoon.  Both have great attractions, but Typhoon Lagoon has a lot more shade due to its theming.  I think that extra shading really helps on a hot and humid summer day.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
