Hi, we are arriving to disney on my daughters 8th birthday. We have half day and we decided to do Holywood Studios. I don't know if there is anything special to do for her there. Is there anything the park will do? TIA

Hi there, Christine, and thanks for stopping by planDisney!

I'm so excited to hear that you'll be celebrating your daughter's birthday at Disney's Hollywood Studios. As a mom myself, I know how important it is to mark those special occasions with a bit of extra magic - and there's no place better to do that than Walt Disney World! I see your visit is just around the riverbend, so let's get straight to your question and sort out those big birthday plans!

Christine, your daughter should feel like a star on her big day. And when she strolls down Hollywood Boulevard decked out in a birthday button, she'll know she's the main attraction! To get a birthday button, stop by Guest Relations (you'll find it on your left just after you enter the park) and speak with a Disney Cast Member. They'll give you a free, personalized button to help celebrate the day. Best of all? These buttons tend to inspire plenty of enthusiastic well-wishes from friendly Cast Members and even other guests!

Since your time in the park is limited, I highly recommend purchasing Lightning Lane passes for your daughter's favorite attractions. Make sure you choose your top selections in advance (3 days before your ticket date or 7 days before check-in if you're staying at a Disney resort). This way, you'll be able to squeeze in the highlights before enjoying a special meal. While you'll have plenty of dining options at Hollywood Studios, my top pick for a birthday bash is always Hollywood & Vine. After all, there's no better party than one where Minnie is on the guest list!

Before I go, Christine, I have a few more ideas to make your daughter's birthday extra magical. First, be sure to book your dining reservation ahead of time through your My Disney Experience app. On the day of your reservation, use the app's Mobile Check-In feature to let Cast Members know you're celebrating a special occasion. In my experience, they always do their best to make a gal feel extra special!

Of course, no birthday is complete without a birthday cake! So I'm very happy to share that Disney World offers the option to order a special, celebratory cake straight to Hollywood & Vine. You can place your order when you make your advance dining reservation or through your My Disney Experience App.

I hope this information is helpful, Christine, and that your princess feels like a queen on her 8th birthday! If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find us right here at planDisney!

    Happiest birthday wishes,

    Allison
