Arriving in 7 days, travelling with 8 adults and 6 kids. What are some great counter service eating places that are not in the parks? Would love to check out other parts of WDW. So excited!

    Great question, Cheryl!

There are some really wonderful Quick Service locations throughout Walt Disney World; many of them are in nearby resorts or at Downtown Disney.

First, if you are staying at a WDW Resort, you'll have a great QS location right there for your convenience. They are all different, with menus that reflect the flavor of that particular resort, so take a look prior to your arrival.

Hands-down, one of favorite restaurants of any kind in WDW is Wolfgang Puck Express at Downtown Disney's Marketplace. Guaranteed, you will some new favorite meals there and will walk away feeling as if you've just dined at a Table Service restaurant. It's a must do, at least once if not twice, on every one of our trips to WDW. Try breakfast and lunch/dinner, as both are not-to-miss. Also at DD are Pollo Campero, Cookes of Dublin, Bongos Cuban Cafe Window and Earl of Sandwich, all of which may offer something just right for your gang.

Over at Disney's BoardWalk, try BoardWalk Bakery (Lobster Roll!) or pizza from Pizza Window.

Our favorite Resort QS locations (easy to get to by taking Disney transportation to the park that's closest to the resort, then taking a bus / monorail / boat to that resort) include Contempo Cafe (Disney's Contemporary Resort), Captain Cook's (Disney's Polynesian Resort), Roaring Fork (Disney's Wilderness Lounge) and The Mara (Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge). Yum at each one!

Happy exploring, Cheryl! Be sure to soak up the extra, resort-specific magic as you dine your way throughout the World, Cheryl. What fun!

Send more questions as you think of them; I love to help!
